Burst Point vs. Freeze Point
Why burst point matters
A stored engine or water system isn't running, so slush is fine. What matters is that the solution doesn't expand enough to crack pipes, blocks, or fittings. Pick the burst point that covers the lowest temperature you expect.
PVC pipe used in most drinking water systems bursts at about -10°F. If temperatures can drop below -10°F, use the -100°F grade.
